Wayne Bridge is backing Diego Costa to fire Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in Wednesday night’s Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues head into the game looking to get their Premier League title bid back on track following the disappointment of their shock 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend.

Chelsea are currently seven points clear at the top of the table as they bid to win the title in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.

Costa has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this season and has scored 17 goals and made five assists heading into Wednesday’s showdown.

And former Chelsea star Bridge is tipping the Brazilian-born forward to find the net for the Blues at Stamford Bridge in a 2-1 win for Conte’s men.

Speaking to BetStars, Bridge said: “Both teams are extremely dangerous going forward so I can see them both scoring. But Chelsea have the defensive solidarity to go with their attacking force and I can’t see them getting beaten at home. You always fancy Diego Costa to nick a goal.

“Man City will be desperate for the points. They want to close that gap, but it’s hard to bet against Chelsea this season. My big call for the match is a 2-1 win to the Blues.”

Chelsea are chasing a domestic double this season as they prepare for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley later this month.
