Paul Pogba sends Man United revenge warning to Chelsea
The Manchester United midfielder warns Chelsea that Jose Mourinho's men are in desperate need of three points
Paul Pogba has warned Chelsea that Manchester United will be looking to secure three points to boost their top-four bid at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United will host the Premier League leaders in the day’s late kick-off as Jose Mourinho’s side look to beat Chelsea for the first time this season.
The Red Devils lost 4-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge back in October following goals from Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Pedro Rodriguez.
Manchester United haven’t lost a Premier League game since that defeat in west London but Jose Mourinho’s men lost 1-0 to Chelsea in their FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge last month.
Mourinho’s men are four points behind Manchester City in the race to secure a place in next season’s Champions League competition.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are four points clear of their closest title rivals Tottenham Hotspur after Spurs were 3-0 winners against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website ahead of their clash against Chelsea on Sunday, Pogba had a warning for Antonio Conte and his players:
“Well, this season Chelsea have beaten us two times and, obviously, we don’t want that to happen a third time – we want to win.
“Obviously they are ahead of us, they’re playing for the title and, for them, it’s important to win this game, for us as well, because we’re playing for the top four as well, so it’s going to be a game that’s really important for each team.
“We have to be focused and get ready and show them revenge, it’s revenge for us. So, let’s be positive about it and hopefully go and win this game.”
