Martin Keown believes Chelsea will beat Tottenham Hotspur if N’Golo Kante can rediscover his best form at Wembley on Saturday evening.

The west London side are looking to make a swift return to winning ways after a chastening experience at Old Trafford last weekend.

Chelsea lost 2-0 to Manchester United as Antonio Conte’s side struggled to compete with their bitter rivals in the Premier League clash.

Kante was unable to leave his imprint on the top-of-the-table clash as his adversary Ander Herrera stood out in the Manchester United midfield.

Former Arsenal and England defender Keown claimed that Kante holds the key if Chelsea are to beat Tottenham and secure their place in the FA Cup final.

“It is so close to call. If N’Golo Kante performs at his best then I can see Chelsea winning 2-1,” Keown told the Daily Mail.

“He is like an extra player who turns the numbers game in their favour all over the pitch. Kante ensures Chelsea are never outnumbered.

“What he may find difficult is performing at Wembley where he will have to cover even more ground. It is that much more difficult to get around the pitch.

“Wembley seems bigger, heavier — both in terms of distance and the weight and expectation of the day.”

Kante moved to Chelsea in a big-money deal from Leicester City back in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The France midfielder is looking to win back-to-back Premier League titles with different clubs.

Chelsea were 2-1 winners against Spurs at Stamford Bridge in November before a 2-0 loss at White Hart Lane in January.
