Michael Owen is expecting to see a feisty encounter when Chelsea take on Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Tottenham head into the game in fine form and fresh from having cut Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table down to four points.

Spurs have won their last seven Premier League games on the spin to leave them second in the table, while Chelsea have suffered something of a blip in recent weeks and have lost two of their last four top-flight games.

It all makes for a fascinating encounter as Chelsea prepare to do battle with their London rivals at Wembley on Saturday evening.

And former Liverpool star Owen is expecting it to be a feisty affair between the two London sides this weekend.

Writing in his blow for BetVictor, Owen said: “I still can’t get over the corresponding fixture at Stamford Bridge 12 months ago when both sides attempted to kick lumps out of each other in a 2-2 draw that saw Leicester crowned Champions.

“Chelsea are the 15/8 favourites with BetVictor for the FA Cup and are, in my opinion, worthy favourites, with the Blues 8/11 favourites to make next month’s final – and with the winner likely to come from this semi-final.

“The cup tie could go either way, with Spurs arriving in sensational form in the top-flight, but with a terrible record at this stage of the competition having lost their last six successive FA Cup semi-finals.

“I expect to see fireworks at Wembley on Saturday, and not necessarily good ones, with no love lost between both sides and the 3/1 for someone to be issued with their marching orders is too big with BetVictor.”
