Danny Murphy hailed Harry Kane’s superb header in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-2 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
The England international was named in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up for their clash against Chelsea in the last four at Wembley.
Willian made the breakthrough in the first half with a powerful free-kick as Antonio Conte was rewarded for making wholesale changes for the cup clash.
However, Tottenham striker Kane restored parity in the 15th minute with a deft header to cancel out Willian’s set-piece.
Former Spurs midfielder Murphy was full of praise for Kane after the striker’s equaliser which took his tally to four FA Cup goals.
“What a header that is. What a goal from Harry Kane!” Murphy told BBC Sport.
“He makes this look so easy. Christian Eriksen manipulates the ball really well, but to get down that low and guide the ball is a superb header.
“That’s their first decent opportunity and it’s a brilliant, brilliant goal from a brilliant player.”
Willian restored Chelsea’s lead from the penalty spot after Son Heung-min brought down Victor Moses before half-time.
Dele Alli leveled for the north London side before substitute Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic scored late goals to seal a 4-2 win.
Kante has scored 20 goals in 23 games in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham are in second place in the Premier League table and four points behind current leaders Chelsea.
