Eden Hazard has warned Tottenham's Belgian contingent that Chelsea will continue their fight for the title
Eden Hazard has warned Tottenham’s Belgian contingent that Chelsea will do everything they can to win the title and prevent any gloating from the Spurs trio.
Tottenham stars Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are all Belgium team-mates of Hazard and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as the two London teams scrap it out for the Premier League title this season.
Chelsea are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table but Spurs are only seven points behind the Blues as the title race hots up.
And Hazard has stressed the importance of Chelsea staying focused as the season reaches its conclusion.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea TV, Hazard said: “That is why we want to win the trophy because if we go to the national team they will speak too much! So we need the trophy for Chelsea.”
He continued: “[Tottenham] are waiting for us to lose points but if we do the job we will be champions in the end.
“We have to be ready because in England you never know, you can lose points against every team but we are professional, we know what to do if we want to be champion.
“When we see Tottenham, everything is not done. It is one step closer but we have seven games left to play and we have to be ready for everything.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in their crunch Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.
The playmaker has been in superb form for Chelsea so far this season, scoring 14 goals and making five assists for the Blues in the Premier League.
