Eden Hazard told to stay at Chelsea and become a legend
Michael Ballack thinks Eden Hazard should stay at Chelsea and ignore the reported interest from Real Madrid
Michael Ballack has urged Eden Hazard to ignore the reported interest from Real Madrid and stay at Chelsea beyond the summer transfer window.
The Belgian playmaker has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most talented attacking players since his arrival at Chelsea from Lille back in 2012.
Hazard has been in fine form for Chelsea this season and has helped the Blues top the Premier League table in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at the club.
And former Chelsea midfielder Ballack believes that Hazard would benefit from staying at Chelsea rather than seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Ballack is quoted as saying by Metro: “Hazard did not have a good season last year and sometimes you don’t really know what happens to players.
“But it seems to be that he’s a bit of an emotional player who needs support and needs to feel really comfortable with the coach and the team and in his private life as well, so that he can perform.
“I’m pretty sure if he moved to Real Madrid he would have to fight for that standing again and it would take time because he’s a bit of an introvert.
“He’s not a player who talks a lot, and Real Madrid, if you see the players they have, it would be a different situation for him.
“I think he’s in a position where he fights for a long time and he will not have the standing he has now at Chelsea at many clubs in Europe so he has to fight for that and that takes a few years again.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old is aiming to win his second Premier League title after helping the Blues lift the trophy in the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho.
