Eden Hazard says there a number of players he would pick to be Chelsea’s next captain ahead of himself.

Current long-term skipper John Terry is set to leave the Blues at the end of the season after finding his playing time to be extremely restricted this season.

Gary Cahill has been captaining Chelsea under Antonio Conte this season in Terry’s absence from the starting line-up.

There have been suggestions that Hazard could be a potential long-term captain at Chelsea, given that he is one of the west London club’s most important players.

However, Hazard believes that there are plenty of other candidates in the Chelsea team who should take the armband ahead of him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hazard said: “I think we have some players who can be more than a captain in this team [than me].

“When I talk to you at the national team, I don’t know if I am a good captain, but I am a captain on the pitch.

“ff the pitch I don’t like to talk a lot, in England I think the captain has to talk and make people ready for the games. I am not this kind of guy, I can talk with my feet but it’s not my job to talk to everyone.

“I think John Terry does this, Gary [Cahill], [Cesar] Azpilicueta and even Cesc [Fabregas]. They deserve to be captain.”
