Eden Hazard sends message to former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho
Eden Hazard insists he has nothing but respect for Jose Mourinho after his second spell at Chelsea ended in disappointment
Eden Hazard has insisted that he has nothing but respect for Jose Mourinho and insists he did not have a falling-out with the Portuguese coach at Chelsea last season.
Mourinho’s second spell at Stamford Bridge came to a disastrous end when he was sacked in December 2015 with Chelsea languishing closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table.
Hazard had been the Premier League’s top performer in the season before as he helped Chelsea win the title and League Cup in the 2014-15 campaign, before being voted as the PFA player of the year.
There had been suggestions that Mourinho, who is now in charge of Manchester United, had fallen out with Hazard and other players at Chelsea towards the end of his second spell at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Belgian playmaker has insisted that isn’t the case and says he has full respect for the now Manchester United manager.
Speaking in an interview with Telefoot, Hazard said: “Many people said I didn’t listen to Mourinho, but that’s not the case.
“It’s not at all the case, I’ve always had a lot of respect for him.”
Chelsea take on Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Saturday evening as they chase a Premier League and cup double in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.
