Eden Hazard was quick to congratulate Marcos Alonso on his incredible free-kick in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

The Spanish defender has proven a successful signing for the west London side over the course of the 2016-17 season after Antonio Conte recruited the wing-back from Serie A side Fiorentina last summer.

Alonso scored twice in Chelsea’s 3-0 win at Middlesbrough earlier this term, while the Spanish full-back has also found the net against Arsenal and Everton at Stamford bridge.

But the former Fiorentina man netted his best Chelsea goal of his short career so far at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening after Alonso curled a delicious free-kick past stranded Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

Hazard, who doubled Chelsea’s lead after Adam Smith’s own goal before Alonso’s second-half effort, is a player who knows a thing or two about wonder strikes.

But even Chelsea’s number ten was left impressed with Alonso’s effort in the second half of Saturday evening’s Premier League clash.

“Well done my friend. What a free-kick! Congratulations,” Hazard told BT Sport.
