Eden Hazard admits he is hoping Tottenham Hotspur have trouble beating Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
Chelsea eased to a comortable 4-2 win against Southampton in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Tuesday night.
Hazard broke the deadlock in the fifth minute thanks to a close-range finish to take his tally to 15 goals in the 2016-17 Premier League season.
Gary Cahill restored Chelsea’s slender lead in added time at the end of the first half after Orieu Romeu had levelled for the visitors.
Spain international Diego Costa scored twice in the second half to secure three points for the Premier League leaders in spite of Ryan Bertrand’s late consolation.
The Blues moved seven points clear of their closest Premier League title rivals thanks to their impressive 4-2 win against Southampton.
Speaking to Sky Sports after his confident performance against the Saints, Hazard sent a message to Tottenham ahead of the north London side’s trip to Crystal Palace:
“I hope they have trouble. We will see tomorrow. We can stay at home tomorrow to watch the game and we will see.”
Chelsea lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
The Eagles have beaten Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool over the past month or so.
