Graeme Souness is backing Chelsea to nick a win at Everton on Sunday.

The Premier League leaders make the long trip to Goodison Park as Antonio Conte’s side look to extend their lead to seven points at the top of the table before the north London derby in Sunday’s late kick-off.

Chelsea eased to a 4-2 victory over EFL Cup runners-up Southampton at Stamford Bridge mid-week as goals from Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Diego Costa helped the west London side to make a return to winning ways.

The Blues produced one of their best performances of the 2016-17 campaign back in October when Chelsea were emphatic 5-0 winners against Everton at Stamford Bridge to underline their status as title favourites.

Everton, though, have the league’s leading goal-scorer in their ranks in the shape of Romelu Lukaku, who has scored 24 times in 31 games this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Chelsea’s trip to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, former Liverpool midfielder Souness said:

“You can see them going to Everton and nicking it. Everton are on fire but this team are designed to go away and steal results.”
