Jamie Redknapp has warned Chelsea to expect a tough clash against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues will be looking to record successive Premier League victories on Merseyside and move seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the north London derby later on Saturday.

Chelsea were impressive 4-2 winners against Southampton in their mid-week Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Diego Costa.

The west London side have lost two of their last four games in the Premier League which has given Tottenham hope of overhauling their rivals in the title race.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp warned Chelsea that Everton will pose a threat to their title ambitions at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

“Everton at the weekend is a very tough fixture at the moment,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“They’re on a great run of form. They’ve got good players who can cause you problems. It won’t be easy.”
