Gary Lineker was thrilled to see a fresh twist in the Premier League title race on Sunday afternoon after Manchester United were 2-0 winners against Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur moved to within four points of the Premier League leaders thanks to their 4-0 win against Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea made the long trip to Old Trafford hoping to restore their seven-point lead at the top of the table with six games to play in the title race.

However, Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock in the first half for the hosts before Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera’s deflected strike sealed three points in the 49th minute.

Match Of The Day host Lineker felt that Manchester United’s 2-0 win had blown the title race open with Tottenham breathing down the necks of Chelsea.

Lineker wrote: “We might just have a title race on our hands.”
