Gary Neville picks his manager of the season (and it’s not Antonio Conte)
Gary Neville picks Mauricio Pochettino as his manager of the season in the Premier League
Gary Neville has selected Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino as his manager of the season in the Premier League, ahead of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Pochettino has earned plenty of praise for the impact he has had at Spurs in recent campaigns and his Lilywhites team are currently Chelsea’s closest challengers in the Premier League table.
Spurs are currently second in the table and seven points behind Chelsea as the title race reaches its conclusion.
Conte has naturally earned incredible amounts of praise for the impact he has had at Chelsea after transforming them into title favourites following their disastrous 10th-placed finish last term.
However, former Manchester United star Neville feels that Pochettino deserves more praise for the strong impact he has had at Spurs this term.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “I love Tottenham, they’re probably my favourite team in the league to watch.
“Pochettino has built a team, brought players through and the budget is nowhere near the other clubs. For me he’s doing an amazing job.”
Chelsea are set to take on Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month as the Blues chase a domestic double in Conte’s first season in charge at the club.
