Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted that he is desperate to score more goals for Manchester United.

The Armenia international has been in improved form for Manchester United in recent weeks after struggling to make much of an impact in his first few months at the club following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

The 28-year-old scored one of Manchester United’s three goals in their 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Sunday as Jose Mourinho’s men kept their faint hopes of a top-four finish alive.

Mkhitaryan has now scored eight goals in all competitions for the Red Devils and the playmaker admits that he is determined to improve that tally in the coming weeks.

Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Mkhitaryan said: “I am always happy to score, not only to score but also to assist; it doesn’t matter to me.

“I am always working and I want to score as many goals as I can. Scoring goals is always enjoyable.”

The Armenian will be expecting to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Anderlecht in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday night.

Manchester United can qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.
