Ian Wright explains why Arsenal should be worried about Tottenham
The Arsenal legend isn't looking forward to the north London derby on Sunday 30 April at White Hart Lane
Ian Wright has admitted that he is worried about Arsenal’s upcoming clash against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League which could decide Arsene Wenger’s top-four fate.
The north London sides have endured contrasting fortunes in the Premier League in recent weeks after a disappointing spell for the Gunners has left Wenger under serious pressure.
Indeed, Arsenal ended a four-game winless run, which included defeats by Liverpool and West Brom, with a 3-0 victory over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
Wenger’s side crashed out of the Champions League in March after a humiliating 10-2 loss to Bundesliga holders Bayern Munich over two legs.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have been steadily improving and Spurs have managed to remain in touch with Chelsea thanks to string of important victories since losing 2-0 to Liverpool back in February.
Spurs looked to be heading for a 1-0 loss to Swansea City on Wednesday night but Tottenham rallied in the final two minutes of normal time to secure a 3-1 courtesy of goals from Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen.
Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast about the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham at White Hart Lane this month, Wright said:
“I’m really worried about the Tottenham game,” Wright said.
“I hope we get some momentum going into that because they will be full steam ahead. I do worry at the moment.
