Jamie Redknapp has claimed that the difference between Chelsea and Manchester United is Eden Hazard.

Jose Mourinho took over the reins of the Old Trafford club at the end of the 2015-16 season after Manchester Untied finished in fifth place under Louis van Gaal.

The Manchester United manager has overseen steady progress throughout the current campaign but his impact hasn’t been as dramatic as his adversary at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte was named as Mourinho’s permanent successor at Chelsea following their tenth-place finish under interim manager Guus Hiddink last term.

The Italian coach has managed to transform his Chelsea side into title favourites thanks to the form of his key players this season, including Hazard.

The PFA player of the year nominee has scored 14 goals and has made nine assists in 30 appearances in the 2016-17 campaign.

Mourinho, on the other hand, has relied heavily upon Zlatan Ibrahimovic given the inconsistent form of the Swedish striker’s support cast.

Writing in his Sky Sports column, Redknapp claimed that the Manchester United manager’s biggest challenge will be unlocking the talent of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford next season.

“The problem he has is his [Jose Mourinho’s] players don’t have the confidence the likes of Eden Hazard have right now. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have the ability but Mourinho hasn’t unlocked that talent yet,” Redknapp said.

“Chelsea, in contrast, are a very strong, organised team with added stardust, and I fancy them to win this one on Sunday. Diego Costa, in particular, could cause United’s backline problems.”
