Latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Crystal Palace clash
Arsene Wenger delivers the latest Arsenal team news ahead of Monday night's trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Laurent Koscielny is likely to miss Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace on Monday night due to injury.
The French defender was forced off at half-time during the north London side’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City last weekend and Wenger revealed that he expects him to miss Monday’s game, although the injury is believed to be a short-term problem.
Wenger also confirmed that midfielder Francis Coquelin is back available again after a family issue, and the goalkeepers Petr Cech and David Ospina remain sidelined.
Speaking at a news conference at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground on Friday morning, Wenger said: “I think from Wednesday’s game, nobody should be out. Coquelin is back available after his family problem. He’s back in contention again.
“I don’t believe that Cech will be available for Monday night, nor Ospina. These are the two players who will still be out.
“I didn’t mention him [Koscielny] because for me he’s out on Monday night. It should be short-term.”
Arsenal head into the game on the back of their 3-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday night as they moved up into fifth place in the table.
The Gunners are aiming to make it back to back wins in the top flight as they battle it out for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
