Jamie Carragher believes it is time for a change at Arsenal after Arsene Wenger’s side lost 3-0 at Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Gunners boss came under even more pressure at Selhurst Park after relegation candidates Palace eased to a comfortable win against the top-four contenders.

Goals from Andros Townsend, Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic helped to seal three points for Sam Allardyce’s men at Selhurst Park as Arsenal failed to register a shot on target in the second half.

Wenger’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, although the Gunners have reportedly offered their new manager a two-year contract extension.

Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

Speaking to Sky Sports’s Monday Night Football show about the current situation at Arsenal, former Liverpool defender Carragher said:

“I have always been – and still am – a massive admirer of the class in the way he speaks after a game and before games, but I think – and I’ve felt it for a while – it’s time for a change.

“The club is Arsene Wenger’s from top to bottom because he’s been there that long, and rightly so. But now the whole club looks a problem. On the pitch you can see it and with the leadership from the top of the club.”
