Tony Gale is backing both Arsenal and Manchester United to miss out on top-four finishes in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal gave their fading European qualification hopes a boost on Monday night with a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

However, Arsene Wenger’s men are still in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to claw their way back into the top four before the season is out.

Manchester United, meanwhile, gave their own Champions League qualification hopes a big boost on Sunday with an impressive 2-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford to leave Jose Mourinho’s men in fifth place in the table.

The Red Devils know that they will move level on points with third-placed Liverpool if they win their two games in hand over the Reds.

However, Gale feels that the current top four is not going to change and is backing both Manchester United and Arsenal to miss out.

“I think it will remain the same,” Gale told Sky Sports News HQ. “Manchester United have too many games coming up. Arsenal aren’t good enough.”
