Rio Ferdinand is tipping Arsenal to miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The north London side boosted their hopes of ending the season on a high when they came from a goal down to beat Manchester City in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley.

Arsenal will take on Chelsea for the FA Cup in the final next month as they look to end the season with some silverware.

Before that, however, the north Londoners will look to keep their faint hopes of finishing in the top four alive.

The Gunners are currently seventh in the table as they gear up for their Premier League clash against Leicester City on Wednesday night.

However, former Manchester United star Ferdinand is still expecting to see the north London side miss out on Champions League qualification this season.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Ferdinand said: “I don’t think they will finish in the top four.

“The worrying thing about this Arsenal team is that they’ve shown a lack of fight and desire to go out there and perform and fight for their manager.

“Go out there and give the performances that he needs to help him. Today [against City] we saw a glimpse of it. The question is, can they continue that?”
