Sol Campbell: This manager will be in charge of Arsenal next season
Sol Campbell is fully expecting to see Arsene Wenger stay on at Arsenal and remain in charge next season
Sol Campbell is convinced that Arsene Wenger will still be Arsenal manager next season.
Wenger’s situation at Arsenal has been a relentless source of speculation this season after the Frenchman entered into the final few weeks of his contract.
The Gunners boss is yet to commit his future to Arsenal despite his current deal being set to expire in the summer.
There has been plenty of speculation about whether Wenger could still be in charge at The Emirates next season.
However, former Arsenal star Campbell is fully expecting to see the Frenchman stay at the club beyond the summer.
Campbell told BetStars: “I think he will be there managing the team at Arsenal next season. He’s been there so long,
“I think he will sign there for another two years and that will be his last contract. It’s not unusual for him to leave it late in the season before confirming anything. Getting to the FA Cup final has definitely given him confidence personally and it is still mathematically possible to finish fourth, then the season changes all of a sudden.
“There’s obviously a split amongst the fans. He’s taken a lot of flak, but getting to the Final helps the scenario at Arsenal.
“It lays down a marker for the team to keep on pushing for that fourth spot. Players need to perform to get into his mind and say look I want to play in the final.”
Wenger is currently preparing his Arsenal side for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners, who are also through to the FA Cup final, head into the game in sixth place in the table as they chase Champions League qualification.
