Alex McLeish has claimed that Eden Hazard has been the driving force behind Chelsea’s Premier League title bid this season.

The Belgian playmaker has been in superb form for the west London club to help Antonio Conte’s men top the Premier League table heading into the final five games of the season.

Hazard has scored 15 goals and made five assists in the Premier League this season and has shown considerable improvement from his struggles last term, when Chelsea ended up 10th in the table.

The 26-year-old was nominated for the PFA player of the year award but missed out as N’Golo Kante won the prize this time around.

However, former Aston Villa boss McLeish has talked up Hazard’s importance to the team and says he deserves huge credit for his influence this season.

McLeish told Sky Sports News HQ: “What he has done for Chelsea this season has been enough to secure them the title, I would feel.”
