Antonio Conte: This Chelsea duo having good seasons, I like their commitment
The Chelsea manager examines the performances of Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante this season
Antonio Conte has heaped praise on Chelsea’s committed duo Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante.
The Belgium international has been one of Chelsea’s chief source of goals in the 2016-17 campaign after a return of 14 goals and five assists in 29 games in the Premier League.
Kante, meanwhile, moved to Chelsea from defending Premier League champions Leicester City in last summer’s transfer window in a £34m transfer deal.
The France defensive midfielder is on course to win his second title in successive seasons with different clubs after helping the Foxes to win the Premier League crown last term.
Both Hazard and Kante were named as nominees for the PFA player of the year award alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Conte offered his verdict on the performances of Hazard and Kante throughout the 2016-17 season.
“Both players are having a good season,” Conte said.
“You are seeing N’Golo performing and Hazard performing and I am very pleased for this because my task and the task of all my staff is to put every single player in the best situation – technically, physically, mentally – to give the best of himself, and I think we are doing a great job with my players.
“During the game you can see their commitment and I think it is great with the ball, without the ball.”
Hazard won the Premier League title in 2015 and also scooped the PFA player of the year award that season.
