Lee Dixon says Eden Hazard looks twice the player he was last season under new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Belgium international has been in scintillating form throughout the 2016-17 campaign to help Chelsea close in on a second title in three seasons.

Indeed, Hazard has scored a respectable 15 goals in 31 appearances in the current campaign which is significantly more than his tally for the 2015-16 season.

The Lille star struggled badly under Jose Mourinho and then Guus Hiddink as the former PFA player of the year failed to find the net until April 2016.

Hazard scored Chelsea’s opening goal in a 4-2 win against Southampton to edge the west London side one step closer to title glory on Tuesday night.

Discussing Hazard’s memerising performances throughout the campaign, former Arsenal defender Dixon admitted that he has mixed emotions when it comes to Chelsea’s number 10.

“Hazard has had a great season,” Dixon told NBC.

“It’s highlighted by his bad performances last season. He looks twice the player this year. He was sulking last year. It says something about the player, he has that in him.

“He wants to be up there with Messi and Ronaldo. You very rarely see them sulking. He is a sensational player.”
