Eden Hazard sends title message to Chelsea
The Chelsea forward urged his team-mates to maintain their performance level with seven games to go
Eden Hazard urged his Chelsea players to maintain their self belief with seven games to go in the Premier League title race.
The Belgium international has proven instrumental in helping Chelsea to maintain their title push over the past week after the number 10 scored twice in a 2-1 win against top-four rivals Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Hazard maintained his performance level on the south coast on Saturday afternoon after the 26-year-old doubled Chelsea’s lead with a stylish finish following Adam Smith’s 17th-minute own goal.
Marcos Alonso restored Chelsea’s two-goal cushion after Joshua King’s spectacular effort with a wonder goal of his own.
Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Bournemouth helped Antonio Conte’s side to restore their seven-point lead at the top of the table following Tottenham’s 4-0 win against Watford.
And Hazard declared that Chelsea had moved one step closer to the title following their win at Bournemouth.
“We have to believe in everything. Now is one step closer to the title and we have seven games left,” Hazard told BT Sport.
Hazard has now scored 14 goals in 29 games in the Premier League this season as the Belgian forward eyes his second title in England.
The former Lille man netted 14 times in 38 games during Chelsea’s title-winning campaign in 2014-15 which earned the winger the PFA Premier League player of the year award.
