Jamie Redknapp believes Tottenham Hotspur are still lacking Chelsea’s cutting edge.

The north London side were tipped to beat the Premier League leaders in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday evening after a run of eight successive victories.

However, Chelsea bounced back from a run of two defeats in four games to book their place in the FA Cup final courtesy of a 4-2 victory over Tottenham.

Willian scored twice in the first half but Harry Kane levelled with a header before England midfielder Dele Alli restored parity in the second half.

Substitute Eden Hazard edged Chelsea into a 3-2 lead before Nemanja Matic’s long-range strike wrapped up three points for the Premier League leaders.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder questioned Mauricio Pochettino’s approach to the last-four clash after Chelsea came out on top in six-goal thriller.

“When I saw Chelsea’s team sheet on Saturday I thought this was Tottenham’s chance to eradicate their ‘nearly-men’ tag. With no Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, Chelsea were there for the taking and when Dele Alli equalised it looked like there would only be one winner,” Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.

“Man for man Tottenham had more quality but their soft underbelly was exposed. Chelsea have the cutting edge Spurs still lack in big games.

“I thought Mauricio Pochettino was sucked in by Antonio Conte’s tactics. Pochettino played three at the back to match Chelsea but with Danny Rose out it was a mistake to play Son Heung-min at left wing back. Son struggled defensively and conceded a penalty with his clumsy challenge on Victor Moses.”
