Shaun Wright-Phillips has praised Antonio Conte for doing an outstanding job at Chelsea this season.

The Blues are sitting at top of the Premier League table and four points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the title race.

Chelsea gave Tottenham the initiative following a 2-0 loss to bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The west London side went on an impressive 13-game winning streak after Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation following back-to-back losses to Arsenal and Liverpool in September.

While Chelsea have only lost three of their last 26 games, the leaders have suffered defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Manchester United in two of their last four outings.

Wright-Phillips, though, has been impressed with Conte’s impact at the west London club since his appointment at the end of the 2015-16 season.

“Conte has done an outstanding job and they adapted to the formation change mid-season pretty quickly,” said Wright-Phillips, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

“They responded in exactly the way he’d have wanted.”
