Chelsea lead Man United in race to sign 24-year-old striker – report
Chelsea are leading Manchester United and a host of other top clubs in the race for Alvaro Morata's signature, say reports in Spain
Chelsea are leading Manchester United in the race to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports.
Spanish newspaper AS, as quoted by The Sun, are reporting that the Blues are in front in the chase for Morata’s signature this summer.
The striker’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks due to his lack of playing time at Real Madrid this season.
Morata has only started 12 La Liga games for Madrid this season but has still managed to score 13 goals and make three assists in the Spanish top flight.
The same report, quoted in the British newspaper, claims that Morata has received offers from Manchester United, Tottenham, Juventus, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund – but that Chelsea is the striker’s most likely destination when the transfer window reopens.
Morata was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer before he was brought back to Real Madrid following his two-year stint at Juventus.
Chelsea are said to be keen to bring Morata to the club because striker Diego Costa is likely to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
