Jamie Redknapp has highlighted the key difference between Chelsea striker Diego Costa and summer target Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with a big-money move to sign the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer in the summer transfer window.

The Belgium international has scored 24 times in 31 games in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season.

Costa, on the other hand, netted twice in the second half of Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has scored 19 times in the current campaign amid reports linking the Spanish star with a move to China.

Ex-Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp expressed his concerns that Lukaku would struggle to lead the Chelsea line in the same manner as Costa.

“It is interesting who they will get to replace Costa,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “There is talk of Lukaku. What Lukaku doesn’t do is lead the line with the aggression that Costa shows.”
