James Rodriguez will leave Real Madrid in the summer amid interest from the Premier League, according to Graham Hunter.

The Colombia international has regularly been linked with a big-money transfer to England since Zinedine Zidane took over the reins at Real Madrid from Rafael Benitez in 2015.

Rodriguez has struggled to earn a regular starting spot under the Madrid legend and has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of first-team football.

The South American has struggled to usurp Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Isco for a place in Zidane’s starting line-up.

Liverpool were linked with the Colombian midfielder earlier this month as Jurgen Klopp prepares for a potential return to the Champions League next season.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with the 2014 World Cup star throughout the 2016-17 season.

And La Liga expert Hunter has been disappointed with Rodriguez’s attitude throughout the campaign and has tipped the midfielder to leave Madrid.

“James Rodriguez has had another pop at Zinedine Zidane,” Hunter told Irish radio station Newstalk.

“In my opinion, [it will be] goodbye and good riddance James Rodriguez in the summer. His attitude and aptitude don’t match his talent.”
