Graeme Souness predicts where Liverpool will finish
Graeme Souness believes Liverpool will secure a long-awaited return to the Champions League this season
Graeme Souness has spoken of his confidence that Liverpool will finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence from Europe’s top table.
Liverpool have won their last four games at Anfield to cement their place in the Premier League’s top four.
The Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in February before a 3-1 win against Arsenal last month to secure important wins against their rivals.
Klopp’s side were comfortable 3-1 winners against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about Liverpool’s top-four challenge, the club’s former captain Souness backed Klopp’s men to secure their return to the Champions League.
“It’s for Liverpool to lose now in the top four. They’re in a great situation,” Souness said.
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after Klopp took over the reins at the Merseyside club back in October 2015.
The 18-time English champions signed seven players in the summer transfer window.
