Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp will be disappointed if Liverpool fail to finish in the Premier League top four.

The Reds have been in impressive form in recent weeks thanks to their dominant performances at Anfield against the biggest rivals.

Liverpool were 2-0 winners against second-placed Tottenham Hotspur before a 3-1 victory over Arsenal to cement their place in the top four.

Klopp’s side secured a 3-1 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend to move further clear of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Liverpool haven’t qualified for Europe’s premier club competition since 2014 when Brendan Rodgers led the Reds to a second-place finish.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about Liverpool’s prospects in the top-four race ahead of their home clash against Bournemouth on Wednesday night, Carragher said:

“I think the position that they’re in now, it will be a major disappointment if they don’t get in the Champions League.”

Liverpool signed seven players in the summer transfer window last year as Klopp looked to overhaul his Reds squad.

The 18-time English champions finished in eighth position in the 2015-16 Premier League table.
