Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule Arsenal out of the top-four race after Liverpool were 1-0 winners at West Brom on Sunday afternoon.

The Merseyside club were looking to record back-to-back Premier League victories on the road following a 2-1 win at Stoke City last time out.

Liverpool had early chances thanks to Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho before the visits made the breakthrough at the end of the first half.

Former Hoffenheim forward Firmino managed to get on the end of Lucas Leiva’s flick-on and place a finish past West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Liverpool hoisted themselves above Manchester City and into third spot thanks to their close-fought win at the Hawthorns Stadium.

Arsenal, meanwhile, take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night as they look to get back on track.

Speaking to BBC Sport after Liverpool’s 1-0 win at The Hawthorns, Klopp insisted that Arsenal are still capable of pipping Liverpool to a top-four finish.

“It is the Premier League, they (Arsenal) have three, four, five games in hand so we should not think about this. We could only get to 66 points [on Sunday], so it feels perfect,” Klopp said.

“Next week we try at Anfield to get 69, and let’s carry on. If we do what we have to do, we will be where we want to be.”
