Ander Herrera has taken to social media to reveal his delight at seeing Manchester United reach the Europa League semi-finals at the expense of Anderlecht – but expressed his dismay at seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo pick up injuries.

Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford handed the Red Devils a vital 2-1 win over the Belgian side after extra-time as Jose Mourinho’s men reached the last four.

However, Ibrahimovic was forced off with a knee injury suffered late in the game, while Rojo was carried off on a stretcher before half-time after also picking up a problem.

And although Herrera was understandably delighted to see Manchester United progress, he admitted that the win was tainted by the serious-looking injuries to the key pair.

Herrera shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Very happy to be in the semi finals but suffering, all the best to Marcos and Zlatan, hope their injuries are not too bad 🔴 #europaleague”

Herrera will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Spanish midfielder did not feature on Thursday night despite his man of the match display in the 2-0 win over Chelsea last weekend.
