Gary Neville has heaped praise on Anthony Martial following his strong display for Manchester United in their 2-0 win at Burnley at the weekend.

The French striker has been criticised for a lack of consistent form this season under Jose Mourinho and has failed to hold down a regular spot in the Red Devils’ first team.

Indeed, the 21-year-old forward has only made a total of 13 starts in the Premier League for Manchester United this term, scoring four goals and making five assists.

However, Martial was in much improved form for the Red Devils on Sunday and scored the opener for Mourinho’s men before setting up a second in a man of the match display at Turf Moor.

And former Manchester United star Neville heaped praise on Martial for his solid performance at the weekend.

Neville told Sky Sports after the game: “Anthony Martial took a rollicking in midweek [against Anderlecht]. He came in [on Sunday] and he looked like the centre-forward he should be.”
