Eric Bailly names the four Man United stars to have helped him
Eric Bailly says his team-mates have helped him to adapt to life at Manchester United this season
Eric Bailly has revealed that the likes of Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling have helped him to adapt to life at Manchester United.
Bailly joined the Red Devils from Villarreal last summer and has been a regular fixture in the first team at Old Trafford since his switch last year.
The Ivorian has earned plenty of praise for his performances for Jose Mourinho’s men this term and looks set to enjoy a successful career at Manchester United.
However, the 23-year-old defender has revealed that it was not easy for him to settle into life in England and thanked his team-mates Rooney, Smalling, Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia for helping him to get used to life at Old Trafford.
Bailly told the Daily Mirror: “I had some apprehension before I came to England but some of the more experienced players really helped me.
“Players like Michael Carrick are always talking to younger players, Chris Smalling has big experience and Antonio Valencia really helped me. Wayne Rooney has been great.”
The defender will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a home clash against Swansea City at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is aiming to steer Manchester United back into the top four in his first season at the club.
