Jamie Carragher has hailed Jose Mourinho’s ability to get the job done at Manchester United’s biggest Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils battled to a goalless draw with top-four rivals Manchester City in the derby at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.

Manchester United were without summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and world-record signing Paul Pogba for the trip to their neighbours.

Mourinho’s side have now managed to pick up points in stalemates against Liverpool at Anfield and at Old Trafford in the current campaign to keep their top-four hopes alive.

The Portuguese coach developed a reputation for grinding out results at their biggest title rivals during his spell at Chelsea – too.

Carragher warned Liverpool and Manchester City that Manchester United are capable of securing a positive result at Arsenal and Tottenham in their final five games.

“It’s not just Manchester United but it’s Jose Mourinho. He came to Man City to do a job,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“Since the start of his second stint in England, he’s had six 0-0s away from against the top six.

“There is no-one better than him at getting the job done.

“Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City will be looking at their fixtures away at Arsenal and Tottenham but no-one is better at going somewhere and doing a job – and sometimes he nicks it, it’s not always 0-0.”
