Jamie Carragher predicts where Man United will finish
Jamie Carragher says Manchester United have a brilliant chance of finishing in the top four this season
Jamie Carragher feels that Manchester United now have a brilliant chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The Red Devils played out a goalless draw with Manchester City at The Etihad on Thursday night as they took a step closer towards securing Champions League qualification for next season.
Manchester United are currently fifth in the table but know that they will guarantee a top-four finish if they win their remaining games.
They now turn their attentions towards their crunch clash with Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they look to take a step closer towards their target.
And reflecting on Thursday’s draw, Carragher explained why he thinks Manchester United are now in pole position to finish in the top four.
Carragher told Sky Sports: “This result [against Manchester City] gives them a fighting chance… actually it gives them a great chance of finishing in the top four without winning the Europa League.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season under Louis van Gaal before Jose Mourinho was brought in last May.
