Frank Lampard has claimed that Manchester United will be very happy with a point after their goalless draw with Manchester City on Thursday night.

The Red Devils produced a solid display against their bitter rivals to earn a point and keep their top-four hopes in their own hands heading into the final few games of the season.

Manchester United are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table but will move into the top four if they win all of their games in hand over their rivals.

And former Chelsea midfielder Lampard feels that Manchester United will be delighted to have claimed a point from Thursday’s clash with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Lampard told Sky Sports: “It wasn’t a game for the purists.

“Manchester United played for the stalemate. When you look at the table, you realise why they played for it. It’s still in their hands [a top-four finish].

“They came to Manchester City and got what they wanted.”
