Ian Wright calls on Man United to follow this one player’s example
Ian Wright says Manchester United should follow Marcus Rashford's example after his brilliant display against Chelsea
Ian Wright believes that Marcus Rashford can set the tone of success for Manchester United between now and the end of the season.
The 19-year-old striker was in superb form for the Red Devils on Sunday afternoon as he helped to inspire Jose Mourinho’s men to a 2-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Rashford scored Manchester United’s first goal and produced an inspired display in front of the home fans at Old Trafford as the Red Devils blew the title race wide open again.
Manchester United have been criticised for their lack of ruthlessness in front of goal this season.
But Wright feels that Rashford showed exactly what Manchester United have been missing in recent weeks with his fine showing against Chelsea at the weekend.
Speaking on BBC Sport’s 606 podcast, Wright said: “All Man United have to do now is keep doing what Marcus Rashford did [against Chelsea].
“The first real chance of the game, he took it. Manchester United are a different entity when that happens.
“They’ve got great pace in the side. If they’re taking chances in certain games where they were drawing, it would be different.”
Rashford will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Anderlecht in the return leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
