Michael Carrick: This Man United star is on fire
Michael Carrick heaps praise on Marcus Rashford for the teenager's grounded attitude at Manchester United this season
Michael Carrick has revealed that Marcus Rashford has an extra spring in his step following his brilliant form for Manchester United in recent weeks.
The 19-year-old has earned plenty of praise for his recent displays for Jose Mourinho’s men after helping to fire the Red Devils to victory over both Chelsea and Anderlecht.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to be out of action for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Rashford will be expecting to feature regularly in a central striking role for Mourinho’s men.
And Carrick has been nothing but impressed by Rashford’s attitude at Old Trafford this season.
Carrick is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “He’s got an extra spring in his step at the moment, which is great.
“He listens, he learns, he gives everything. We forget how young he is and don’t underestimate the pressures of playing for this club.”
“He’s come on so fast and expectation goes through the roof. They tell you from a young age to be humble and star humble, and he’s doing that.
“Even though he’s scored a lot of goals, he keeps his feet on the ground which is a good thing.”
Both Carrick and Rashford will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when they return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against bitter local rivals Manchester City at The Etihad on Thursday night.
Manchester United will take on Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-finals.
