Ryan Giggs believes Antonio Valencia is having his best season at Old Trafford, hailing the Manchester United defender’s dominant performances.

The Ecuador international is one of Manchester United’s longest-serving players after Sir Alex Ferguson signed Valencia in an £18m deal from Wigan Athletic back in 2009.

The versatile defender has won four Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his eight-year stay at the 20-time English champions.

However, Valencia has been particularly impressive under new manager Jose Mourinho after a return of one goal and three assists in 26 appearances in the Premier League.

Former Manchester United midfielder Giggs, who has played alongside Valencia and coached the South American, picked the Ecuadorian in his Premier League team of the year for 2016-17.

“He is having his best ever season at Old Trafford at right-back. I have always rated Antonio as a top player but he looks better than ever now and dominates that right side,” Giggs told the Daily Telegraph.
