Matt Le Tissier is hoping to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic stay at Manchester United for another season.

The Swedish striker has been a key part of Manchester United’s success this season after arriving at the club from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer.

The veteran forward has scored 28 goals in all competitions in his first season in England to dispel any doubts about his ability to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

The 35-year-old’s season has been cut short after he suffered knee ligament damage during the win over Anderlecht last week.

Ibrahimovic initially signed a one-year contract with the Red Devils, with the option to extend for a further year.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Swedish star will stay on at Old Trafford beyond this summer.

Southampton legend Le Tissier would love to see the former PSG star stay at Manchester United and feature in the Premier League next season.

Le Tissier told Sky Sports: “Zlatan has been another huge hit! It’s just a real shame about the injury and I’d love to see him stay in the Premier League.

“He’s great value from a pundits’ perspective and has been vital for United this season.”
