Wayne Bridge is backing Manchester United to enjoy a positive second season under Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils limped to a 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.
Everton defender Phil Jagielka broke the deadlock in the first half to leave Manchester United facing a first Premier League defeat since October.
The 20-time English champions managed to salvage a point thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s added-time penalty following Ashley Williams’s handball.
Manchester United are in sixth place and four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the hunt to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
Mourinho took over the reins at Old Trafford back in May following Manchester United’s fifth-place finish under Louis van Gaal last term.
Former Chelsea defender Bridge, who played under the Portuguese coach during his Stamford Bridge career, is backing Manchester United to have a second successful season under Mourinho.
“For me, Jose Mourinho is the league’s best manager. I played under him at Chelsea. I just see him as a winner,” Bridge told BetStars.
“Training was always fun and enjoyable and he protects his players which gives you confidence. I think Manchester United will do great under him next year.”
Manchester United are in the Europa League quarter-finals against Anderlecht this month.
