Jose Mourinho is ready to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane despite Manchester United selling the defender under 24 months ago, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that the Red Devils are ready to make a swoop for the newly-capped England international as Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options.

The same article states that Burnley have placed a price tag of £30m on the centre-half as Sean Dyche looks to make a substantial profit on the Clarets defender.

Burnley signed the 24-year-old defender in a £2.5m deal from Manchester United in the 2014 summer transfer window after Louis van Gaal deemed Keane surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Manchester United signed Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly in a £30m deal from La Liga outfit Villarreal in last summer’s transfer window.

But it seems that the Red Devils could be on the lookout for further defensive reinforcements this summer.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table after Manchester United eased to a 2-0 win against the leaders at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
