Man United could make 22-year-old their first summer signing – report
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Marquinhos from Paris Saint-Germain this summer
Manchester United are considering a summer transfer move to sign defender Marquinhos from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
The Manchester Evening News are reporting that the Red Devils have earmarked the 22-year-old as a potential summer signing as Jose Mourinho begins to think about bolstering his squad ahead of next season.
The same story claims that the Red Devils were interested in signing the defender last year but were put off by his price tag, before signing Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
However, Manchester United could be set to make a fresh enquiry for the Brazil international, who has two years left to run on his current contract with PSG.
The Brazilian defender has started 22 of PSG’s 31 Ligue 1 games so far this season.
The same report states that Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to bring in a new defender after Marcos Rojo was sidelined with a knee injury during the 2-1 win over Anderlecht in the Europa League last week.
Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against local rivals Manchester City at The Etihad on Thursday night.
