Martin Keown urges Kylian Mbappe to move to Man City ahead of Man United
The former Arsenal defender is urging Kylian Mbappe to move to Man City ahead of Man United in the summer
Martin Keown has told Kylian Mbappe to move to Manchester City ahead of Manchester United if the forward decides to leave Monaco.
The France international has been in stunning form for the Ligue 1 side throughout the 2016-17 season to alert Europe’s top clubs to the teenager’s talent.
Mbappe has scored five goals in seven appearances in the Champions League to help Monaco reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2004.
The 18-year-old has also netted 12 times in 23 games in Ligue 1 to prompt talk of a potential move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been linked with a world-record move to sign Mbappe in the summer, less than 24 months after the Red Devils signed Anthony Martial from Monaco.
Manchester City, meanwhile, were also reported to be pushing hard to sign the Monaco starlet to bolster Pep Guardiola’s attacking options.
Writing in his Daily Mail column about Mbappe and reports linking the French star with a move to the Premier League, Keown said:
“I would have to say Manchester City, where he would play down the middle.
“I am sure Manchester United would want him but they already have Rashford in that position.”
