Man United to re-sign player sold by Louis van Gaal – report
Manchester United want to re-sign defender Michael Keane from Burnley, according to reports
Manchester United are set to re-sign defender Michael Keane from Burnley this summer, according to reports.
The Daily Express are reporting that the 24-year-old England defender has emerged as a top target for Jose Mourinho this summer, just two years after he was deemed surplus to requirements by then-manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and sold to Burnley.
The report claims that the Red Devils are the favourites to land Keane this summer and that they may “sweeten” the deal by loaning or selling other young players to Burnley in return.
The same article states that Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal are all interested in signing Keane ahead of the summer transfer window but that the defender would rather move back to Old Trafford if the opportunity presents itself.
Keane came through the Manchester United Academy and is said to favour a move back to the club this summer.
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon as they look to keep their top-four bid on track.
